אלעד גוטרמן

Sculptor, jeweler and metalworker. Teacher in the Jewelry Department at the Arts Institute, Tel-Hai College. Married, father of three, member of Kibbutz Yiron in the Upper Galilee.

Elad works mainly with reclaimed materials, scrap metal and discarded wood that he gathers around his studio and home. They are both his raw material and his inspiration.

A tin shelf becomes trees. Iron scraps become flowers and a landscape of houses. An old wooden pallet becomes wings. This transformation is at the center of his work: what looks like waste becomes an aesthetic idea, with a new meaning that is personal and emotional.

Elad Guterman in his workshop

"Everything around me, everything thrown away, broken, damaged, or rusted, is raw material to me. I start from the material. The material is the first inspiration. Then I ask: what does it remind me of? How do I connect it? How will it turn into a feeling?"
